The Harman's , the Morrison's, the Walton's, more amazing people!

This week we were able to travel through the other half of Garald's area to deliver supplies and introduce  ourselves. First stop was to the Heritage Farms in Laconia, New Hampshire. Brother Morrison is an early morning teacher in a class that boasts 25 students, a huge group for early morning. They have an organic farm, pancake restaurant , ice cream parlor and co-op. Their ice cream is made from nut milk and is fabulous . They practice clean eating and I was fascinated by their inventions of healthy foods. His wife, Ursula looks 20 years younger, than she is. ( I am not kidding, look at the pictures.)
Next we travelled to Waterbury, Vermont to meet with newly called institute teachers, Brother and Sister Walton. They teach two institute classes AND the ARP addiction recovery classes in two different cities. They had so much energy and enthusiasm.
One of the treats of the night was traveling to Sharon Vermont to the birthplace of the Prophet Joseph Smith. When I walked up to the monument , there was the most wonderful gardens, I felt I was in heaven. There was music from angels singing "I feel my Savior's Love." This is my favorite song and one I have heard in my mind in sacred times. Although it was truly playing over speakers, I felt His love. I have a testimony of the love of our Father in Heaven, and His Son Jesus Christ. I truly feel their love. We walked down and were invited to dinner by the missionaries. Aaaaaand a great surprise , we were able to spend time with the Harman's from Acequia , Ida . They are the master gardners in Sharon. It was like a gift from home!

The most amazing people! (And a visit to "The Shining", or Stephen King's home)

This week we took a road trip to Bangor, Maine. We were able to see Grag and NataLee and their family. We took this opportunity to meet the people of the Northern most point of Garald's area and the United States . It is beautiful , and amazingly enough the leaves are already starting to change. We met an outstanding woman from the Bangor Institute , who is studying to be an optometrist. She holds down three jobs while going to school and teaching institute. She lived in a little apartment with her husband and children that was up two flights of stairs. A convert to the LDS church of just a few years, her testimony was strong and she radiated the spirit. It strengthened my testimony. Greg told us that Stephen King lived there as well. He has written many novels in this SCARY edifice that was complete with gargoyles and bats. We felt like "Children of the Corn."

Northern New England Seminary and Institute Yearly Training

Today the early morning seminary and institute brothers and sisters gathered for training at the Exeter New Hampshire stake. Garald did a wonderful job planning and teaching this event. We are amazed and grateful these dedicated brothers and sisters arise to teach at 6:00 am every morning, most of them with full time jobs. Their testimonies truly strengthened mine! And... I love my gorgeous Garald more than ever! Here are some pictures taken at the luncheon. ( A special thanks to Joanne and Sue for their sacrifice of their entire Saturday to help us.)

New Hampshire !

I am loving the beauty, the work and the people of New Hampshire. I  am beginning to climatize and understand the language and a bit of the culture. I am running in the beauty of  God's handiwork . I love the wonderful fruits and veggies of New England. I love the huge blueberries that are so readily available. A wonderful sister in our ward invited us to dinner and made a blueberry pie HEAPED with blueberries. I have even picked them and ate so many my tongue turned blue. They call it breakfast in the berry patch. Amazing! Oh and one other thing I have learned, I now own rain boots and never leave home without an umbrella!

Lobster Feast at the Merrymans!

My iPad was left at the Harvard university institute. So there has been no new blog for a week. Sorry! The Merrymans invited us to dinner for lobster. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a meal more. Two whole lobsters, fruit and salad is pretty much my idea of a perfect meal. Dave Merrymans was just a star of a new " I am a Mormon ". He is an amazing Maine lobsterman. His wife Jena is a wonderful cook and their marriage is worth emulation. Thanks, Merrymans, for a wonderful welcome to Maine!
